Windsurf in elba

What makes windsurf so popular on the island is definitely the fact it’s always windy and that makes possible to windsurf almost all year round, every day could be the right one to venture through the waves. Windsurf pros prefer winds such as south wester, sirocco, westwind and north west wind, that are at their strongest in the south area of the island, even though they can be found basically along the whole coast.

If you want to try windsurfing, Elba island is definitely the perfect place, not just for the favorable weather conditions, but also because there are many schools and rentals for surf boards and sails for any levels and any ages. School teachers are very experienced and during theory and practice lessons ashore, you could learn the first basics on wind directions and on what to do in the sea. After few days you could go to sea and catch the first wind, follow the wind pressure and understand its language in a thrilling balance of strength in your arms and footwork. The more passionate ones will became experts with time and they will soon be able to do stunts, spins and jumps.
